 History Lessons - My Motivations.

Read about my experience with poor quality eyecare!

When I first got out of school I got a job for a chain store called “Sirping Optical”  (name changed to prevent law suits).  Within a few months I saw how poor eye care could be.  The goal was cheap and fast and quality was not important.  Technicians were paid the minimum and as soon as they learned their work they would quit and seek better employment. I met many patients who suffered headaches and other ailments caused by their poorly made eye wear.  Examinations were brief and superficial. Many eye diseases were not diagnosed until they were severe (if ever).  This was NY City and all the suburbs (nothing much has changed over the last 20+ years.... just the names of the stores).

I went from job to job seeking a place to work where people cared and found none! If you read at all,  you will again and again hear about the poor quality of eye wear and eye care at chain stores.  It is in the papers as well as on the news at least every 5 years.

If you are coming here it should be because your respect yourself and your family and expect better care.

If you come here with the intention of getting a good exam and then going to an optical chain with a discount card, don’t waste your time.  You do get what you pay for!   If your eye was red and sore would you run to the chain store?  So why would you get your glasses there?

Remember quality eye care and eye wear is not free but it does not have to be expensive either.  We have a huge choice of frames to meet everyone’s needs.  On the other hand,  poor quality eye wear and eye care is really expensive as it can cost both your eye sight and your comfort.
